BUFFALO, N.Y. — The entrance of half a dozen new national or international restaurant franchises could help balance the loss of Red Lobster and TGI Friday stores in Western New York.
The region continues to be a draw for companies looking for growth opportunities, according to franchisees and business development officials.
“It’s obviously a great market,” said Jackie Lobdell, vice president of franchise development at Slim Chickens, a Fayetteville, Arkansas-based fast casual chicken franchise. The company said earlier this year it is eyeing Buffalo as part of a Northeast expansion into 10 states. “We are just inching our way into the Northeast.”
