BUFFALO, N.Y. — The expansion of 42 North to downtown Buffalo presents a unique opportunity for Fat Bob’s Smokehouse, which took over the kitchen at the 42 North's East Aurora location in 2020.

Fat Bob’s is known for barbecue at its Allentown location, but owners Patrick and Bridget Ryan are doing something different.

The couple created Queen City Hospitality as a new LLC to oversee Queen City Flats inside 42 North’s new taproom at 674 Main St. in the Wurlitzer Flats development in Buffalo’s Theater District. Though the menu will be inspired by the flavors that have sustained Fat Bob’s since 1998, it won’t include barbecue.
