BUFFALO, N.Y. — Developer SAA|EVI is planning an $80 million building with 230 mixed-income apartment units and commercial space on the site of the former Voelker's Lanes bowling alley at the corner of Amherst Street and Elmwood Avenue in Buffalo.
The developer has a deal to purchase the property from owner Am-Elm Realty Inc., which is controlled by Krista Voelker and the Voelker family. Terms were not available.
The bowling alley closed during the pandemic. Plans for demolishing the building have been in the works since 2021, with a housing court judge issuing a demolition order early last year.
