WEST SENECA, N.Y. — A dairy company is planning a $150 million expansion in West Seneca to meet an "insatiable" demand for cottage cheese and Greek yogurt.

Upstate Niagara Cooperative will more than double its facility at 3300 North America Drive, with a 250,000-square-foot addition to its 222,851-square-foot warehouse. According to an application filed with the Erie County Industrial Development Agency, the cooperative already owns the vacant land there.

"The market data we're seeing suggests that both cottage cheese and Greek yogurt are growing, and we're expanding to meet that customer demand," said Upstate CEO Kevin Ellis. "People are trying to get more protein in their diets."
