HAMBURG, N.Y. — CVS Pharmacy is closing a Hamburg location this month.
The Woonsocket, Rhode Island-based retailer is shuttering its site at 358 Buffalo St., Hamburg on July 23. The site’s employees are being offered comparable roles within CVS, according to a spokesperson. Prescriptions will be transferred to the CVS at 7182 Boston State Road, Hamburg, which is four miles from the closing site.
“Maintaining access to pharmacy services in the communities we serve is an important factor we consider when making store closure decisions,” Amy Thibault, CVS’ lead director of external communications, told Business First in an email statement. “Other factors include local market dynamics, population shifts, a community’s store density and ensuring there are other geographic access points to meet the needs of the community.” You can read the full story on Buffalo Business First's website.
