Clarence Center restaurant transitions to new owners

CLARENCE CENTER, N.Y. — A Clarence Center eatery will remain open and operating following its sale to new owners.

Gertie’s has operated for 14 years from 6010 Goodrich Road, where Gary Held and Beth Gross founded the business after taking over a former tea shop in 2010.

This week, they finalized a sale of the business to Josh Cohen and Tony Galbo, who plan to keep the name — a nod to Gross’ grandmother — as well as the 11-person staff. A few tweaks to the menu are expected.
