LEWISTON, N.Y. — As the chef/co-owner at Casa Antica Restaurant and Lounge in Lewiston for a decade, Calogero “Charlie” Soldano typically knows what to expect during dinner service.
Customers at the upscale Italian restaurant founded by his father about 20 years ago often ask for arancini rice balls, stuffed peppers and house-made pasta. But on a late October evening, Soldano faced a particular challenge: Prepare two types of fish freshly caught a few miles away in the Niagara River.
The results will be featured on the Discovery Network in early 2024 as part of a new program, Let’s Take it Outside with Misty Wells, who hosts outdoors shows that have appeared on eight networks including Fox Sports, ESPN and CBS Sports.
