LEWISTON, N.Y. — A new restaurant is in the works for the historic Frontier House in the Village of Lewiston, coming 20 years after a McDonald’s franchise closed at the site.
This time, diners will get a slightly more upscale menu when Fairbanks opens its doors at 460 Center St., with plans for an American menu of regionally-inspired foods influenced by ingredients from local farms, orchards and vineyards.
The project comes from Daniel Hagen and Jake Strawser, the same team that opened Billy Club in Allentown in 2015. The pair are leasing the ground floor of the 1824 building from Ellicott Development, which acquired the site in 2019 for $800,000.
The restaurant will also have a custom house cocktail list and an extensive wine list that focuses on new and old-world wine, as well as wines from the Northeast region, Strawser said.
