BUFFALO, N.Y. — Business First examined the most recent data from the U.S. Bureau of Labor Statistics' Occupational Employment and Wage Statistics survey for the Buffalo-Cheektowaga-Niagara Falls region, which includes all of Erie and Niagara counties, to find out how compensation varies in these respective fields of work. You'll find the results below, with each position listed alongside its annual average salary and location quotient.
At the top of the class are engineering teachers, who earn an average of $114,800 per year, followed closely by economic teachers, who bring in an average salary of $112,250. Preschool teachers who don’t specialize in special education make $41,150 on average, while teaching assistants who work in fields apart from postsecondary capacities ($32,440) are the only workers who don’t make an average yearly salary over $40,000.
