BUFFALO, N.Y. — Five months after closing his tasting room on Elmwood Avenue, Nick Kotrides has leased the space and is selling the Uncle Jumbo’s Distillery business.

Founded in 2017 as Uncle Jumbo’s American Vodka, the company expanded with a tasting room in 2021 at 478 Elmwood Ave., offering its vodka and bourbon and ready-to-drink cocktails in a can.

Kotrides previously operated Faherty’s and Toro Tapas Bar on Elmwood and Empire Grill on Hertel Avenue. He had anticipated similar customer traffic for the Uncle Jumbo’s tasting room, but found a different response post-pandemic.
