Tentative agreement in assessment battle reached with Station Twelve

Station Twelve’s owner and the Town of Amherst have reached a tentative settlement in a dispute over the property's assessment.

AMHERST, N.Y. — Station Twelve’s owner and the Town of Amherst have reached a tentative settlement in a dispute over the property's assessment.

Petitioner Northtown Property Owner LLC in July 2023 filed a petition in state Supreme Court in Erie County that alleged that the town has overvalued the Station Twelve properties by at least $14.67 million, according to court filings.

Plaza owner WS Development, through the LLC, said the parcels at 3151 Sheridan Drive and 3055-3105 Sheridan Drive have a combined assessment value that does not exceed $6.59 million. But the town’s assessed value was $21.27 million — a 69% difference, according to the petition.

The parties on May 14 reached a tentative settlement for a “modest reduction” of the parcels’ assessed values, according to a Sam Alba, senior deputy town attorney.
