BUFFALO, N.Y. — Elmwood Village could get a second drive-thru restaurant, as Ellicott Development moves forward with plans for a Starbucks at 531-541 Elmwood Ave. in Buffalo, a former KeyBank.
The company received approvals on a minor site plan review by the City of Buffalo planning department to convert the one-story, 3,893-square-foot building at the corner of West Utica and Elmwood Avenue. According to the plans, the company will renovate the facade and installed a fenced patio along W. Utica.
KeyBank closed its branch at the site following the acquisition of First Niagara, consolidating operations into a site at the nearby Stuyvesant Plaza. Ellicott Development later acquired the site and a neighboring parking lot in April 2022 for $925,000.
