BUFFALO, N.Y. — For viewers, the April 8 solar eclipse offers a unique chance to see the moon block all sunlight for more than three minutes. For local businesses, the eclipse is also a once-in-a-huge opportunity to draw in customers.
Some businesses are hosting RV travelers on their sites through a Colorado-based company called Harvest Hosts. The process works like this: Travelers with a Harvest Host membership can book one-night stays at a network of small businesses from breweries to farms to golf courses, across the U.S. In return, the guests are asked to spend about $30 at each host location.
There’s no cost to a business to be part of the network.
