LOCKPORT, N.Y. — Kaleida Health has begun construction on its new Lockport multi-specialty practice site, with plans for an opening in early 2025.

The project at 6009 Transit Road will create a new Northtowns service hub to serve patients from Eastern Niagara County and Northern Erie County communities including East Amherst and Clarence.

Benderson Development has begun site work and foundations, with a goal of finishing up by second quarter 2025, said Mike Hughes, senior vice president and chief administrative officer at Kaleida.

Preliminary work at the site has included modifications to the 24,456-square-foot building that previously housed David Cadillac GMC dealership. The project will reuse 19,000 square feet of the existing building, while adding a 12,000-square-foot L-shaped addition. The exterior work on the building shell is valued at about $2 million. The balance of the project has not yet been determined, according to the Town of Lockport.
