BUFFALO, N.Y. — Six months after closing his Allentown restaurant, Jose Castenada is reopening the site under a new name with an expanded Mexican menu.
La Fiesta Cantina will take the place of Don Tequila at 73 Allen St. at Franklin Street, with a more modern menu, he said. The restaurant closed after five years in business under the Don Tequila name in September. At the time, Castenada pointed to crime in the neighborhood.
He plans to open La Fiesta Cantina on April 1. It's not just the menu that’s changed. Castenada invested in an interior renovation, including resurfacing the walls and floors.
