BUFFALO, N.Y. — As signage goes up for Highmark Western and Northeastern New York’s new offices at Seneca One, the Buffalo-based health plan has confirmed it will have a dozen fewer staff making the move.
The company issued layoff notices to 12 employees last week, including members of the provider relations and provider operations teams that work with area physicians.
The cuts were among 47 in several markets by Highmark Health of Pennsylvania, the Pittsburgh-based company that affiliated with the former HealthNow NY in 2021.
