Barbecue restaurant takes over Como site near airport

A new eatery is taking over space near the Niagara Falls International Airport recently left vacant by the Como Restaurant.

NIAGARA FALLS, N.Y. — A new eatery is taking over space near the Niagara Falls International Airport recently left vacant by the Como Restaurant.

Parker’s Pit has leased the space at 10158 Niagara Falls Blvd. across from the airport, with plans to open a barbecue restaurant in March. There will be a sit-down service for about 110 and a takeout area where Como previously ran its deli operation.

The business started in 2017 when owner Mark Bruning began doing events with a utility trailer. During the pandemic, he bought a bigger trailer, then converted the breezeway between his home and garage in Middleport into a certified kitchen, adding a few picnic tables out front for diners to eat on-site.
