BUFFALO, N.Y. — A new distillery company is tapping into family history that dates to 1936 and adding in popular products from another area company.
Effective March 1, Swiezy Distilling Co. took ownership of Yoga Pants Vodkas and will continue to create premium vodka, gin and canned cocktails. The former owner was Cherisse Callahan who started the distillery in 2017 in the former Buffalo China complex. Terms were not disclosed.
The distillery will continue as a woman-owned business headed by Joanna Swiezy and operated with her daughters Claryssa Ryan and Cassie Swiezy. Another sister, Cailynn Swiezy, also will be involved, as well as their father, Frank.
