BUFFALO, N.Y. — Buffalo’s airport has a lower average airfare than Rochester, Syracuse and Albany.

With 15% more passengers in 2023 over 2022, the average round-trip airfare ranks 24th among the busiest 100 airports in the U.S., according to third-quarter 2023 ranking on Average Domestic Airline Itinerary Fares by the U.S. Department of Transportation Bureau of Transportation Statistics.

“It says something about our market,” said Pascal Cohen, marketing manager and aviation business development for the Buffalo Niagara International Airport. “Airlines like to compete where we are, and that’s good for consumers.”
