BUFFALO, N.Y. — A local developer has plans to renovate a recently acquired Niagara Street building that once housed a prohibition-era dance hall.

The former Niagara Hall at 831 Niagara St. currently has two commercial spaces on the first floor — an artist's studio and A Chau International Market. There are two apartments on the second floor and two more artists' studios one the third — one of which is in a historic former dance hall.

Developer Hall Hikers LLC, led by Devon Huff of Amherst, plans to pursue historic tax credits for a renovation, according to construction manager Haley Hartmans.
