BUFFALO, N.Y. — When Peter Krog was approached about acquiring the massive, vacant Trico factory, his first answer was "no."
"At the time, I didn't want anything to do with it," he said.
He eventually rethought his reluctance and in 2015 announced a plan to transform the 600,000-square-foot factory into a hotel. He bought the property for $35,000 in 2017, but the pandemic sent the project back to the drawing board. Krog brought on BMW Management owner Bruce Wisbaum as a partner.
