BUFFALO, N.Y. — Several contractors have filed liens related to the stalled Heritage Point project at Canalside, alleging $2.8 million in unpaid bills.

Sinatra & Co. and its investment partners have spent more than $12 million out of pocket while trying to secure a loan, according to CEO Nick Sinatra. Now he says he's found a lender but is trying to secure another $4 million loan from the state in order to seal the deal and restart the project.

"We need to fill a $10 million gap to get the project done," Sinatra said.

Heritage Point is a 61-unit apartment project with additional commercial space. Most of the structural steel work has been completed, but work stopped early this year as money ran out.
