BUFFALO, N.Y. — Buffalo is saddled with the eighth-worst unemployment rate among the nation’s major metropolitan areas, according to a report issued Wednesday morning by the U.S. Bureau of Labor Statistics (BLS).
Almost one-fifth (19.2%) of the workers in the two-county Buffalo metro were unemployed in April, a rate exceeded by only seven U.S. markets with populations greater than 500,000.
The new report is the first to reflect the full damage done. You can read the full story on Buffalo Business First's website.
