BUFFALO, N.Y. — Buffalo is preparing to launch a program to provide more residential options for city residents, starting with a pair of East Side neighborhoods.
By early spring, if not sooner, the Buffalo Office of Strategic Planning will be issuing RFPs for an estimated 1,600 vacant lots in the city’s Hamlin Park and Masten neighborhoods with the goal of encouraging residential development that focuses on the low-to-moderate and affordable income brackets.
City leaders hope the first residential units – mostly single-family homes – will be constructed and made move-in ready by early 2025.
