BUFFALO, N.Y. — In the wake of the blizzard, stores across Buffalo were broken in to and looted.
2 On Your Side heard from business owners and Buffalo Police about the disappointment, but one major hit was to the Broadway Market. Vendors had their inventory stolen, and cash registers were smashed.
But the scene there was a little different Saturday after the community decided to come together and show the Broadway Market their love and support.
"I felt violated, but I'd like to make a positive spin on that. I'd like Buffalo to show their love and come back," said Pearl Omphalius, a vender at the Broadway Market.
Added Jackie Wiley, a Broadway Market employee: "So we were up and running, but business is business right now. You've got to get what you can get."
Buffalo Police have started an anti-looting detail to investigate robberies. At least 10 people have been arrested so far.
