AMHERST, N.Y. — The owners of a Lockport barber shop are preparing to open a beauty school.
Monica and Jackson Elniskey, owners of Atlas Barber Co., expect to open the Atlas Institute of Beauty in January at 9548 Transit Road, East Amherst.
The idea, which has been in the works for about 18 months between getting proper licensing and finding the right location, stemmed from multiple people who lacked professional licenses wanting to work at the Elniskeys’ barbershop in the Transit Road Plaza. So the Elniskeys sent out a survey to gauge interest about attending beauty school.
