NORTH TONAWANDA, N.Y. — The closure of 328 American Freight stores is underway, including the one location in Western New York.

The American Freight location at 778 Niagara Falls Boulevard in North Tonawanda has started the closing process.

"GOING OUT OF BUSINESS. Everything must go. All our retail locations across the country are closing," the North Tonawanda location recently posted to Facebook. "Now’s your chance to grab furniture, appliances, and more at up to 30% OFF the lowest ticketed price. Don’t miss out on these incredible savings before they’re gone for good."

In some cases, consumers will be able to save up tp 40% off the store's lowest ticketed prices.

The company is going through Chapter 11 bankruptcy proceedings. The shutdowns come after its parent company, Franchise Group, Inc., filed for bankruptcy protection in U.S. Bankruptcy Court in Delaware earlier this month.

The liquidation sales, which are being managed by Hilco Consumer-Retail, offer significant discounts of up to 30% off storewide on a variety of products, including living room sets, bedroom furniture, dining tables, and both new and scratch-and-dent appliances, such as refrigerators, washers, and dryers.

All sales are final. Shoppers are encouraged to take advantage of the limited-time sales before inventory runs out.

"Our goal is to deliver outstanding value to customers during this full chain closing sale," Ian Fredericks, CEO of Hilco Consumer-Retail, said in a statement. "Everything is on sale and must be sold, and we recommend shopping early for the best selection."
