City of Buffalo makes change to parking enforcement on Black Friday, Small Business Saturday

Acting Mayor Christopher Scanlon wants "everyone to shop, dine, and explore locally while supporting our local entrepreneurs and visiting neighborhoods."

BUFFALO, N.Y. — In an effort to jump-start shopping this holiday season, the City of Buffalo announced that all metered parking spaces in shopping districts will be free on Black Friday and Small Business Saturday.

"Buffalo is home to so many amazing small businesses across our city," Acting Mayor Christopher Scanlon said in a statement Thursday. "By relaxing parking enforcement on Black Friday and Small Business Saturday, we want to encourage everyone to shop, dine, and explore locally while supporting our local entrepreneurs and visiting neighborhoods across the city."

  • Tonawanda/Ontario
  • Upper Niagara
  • Grant/Amherst
  • Grant/Ferry
  • Elmwood Village
  • Connecticut Street
  • Niagara Street
  • Lower Niagara
  • Lower Main (downtown)
  • Jefferson Avenue
  • Fillmore Avenue
  • Broadway/Fillmore
  • Broadway Market
  • Bailey Avenue
  • East Delavan Avenue
  • Lovejoy
  • Kaisertown
  • Seneca/Cazenovia
  • Abbott Road
  • South Park

A number of hometown businesses will be holding sales and specials on both days.
