BUFFALO, N.Y. — We begin our salute to Buffalo Bills fandemonium with a teacher in Peekskill, N.Y., just outside New York City.
Sarah Peterson was born and raised in Buffalo, and football meant family time to her growing up.
She made a deal with her husband, a New York Jets fan, to raise their sons as Buffalo Bills fans, like their mom. Sarah and her family attended an event hosted by Fanatics, a sports merchandise and company.
There was a contest where the best sports-related costume would win seven dream trips for sports fans. Included in the package, was a trip to the Super Bowl, Stanley Cup finals, World Series and NBA finals.
Sarah and husband designed and manufactured a costume which resembles a Bills' fan smashing through a tailgating table. The costume was a hit at the event. She drew the attention of attendees, with sports celebrities, and most importantly with the CEO of fanatics, Michael Rubin, who awarded Sarah seven trips! In fact, she was given an eighth trip, a trip to a Buffalo Bills home game.
Congratulations to Sarah and family, and we'll see you soon back in Western New York.
