'Kids Day' draws the youngest members of Bills Mafia to Highmark Stadium

The special day dedicated to family fun was the last pre-season game before heading into the regular season.

ORCHARD PARK, N.Y. — Another Saturday in Orchard park meant another pre-season game for the Bills. Although the team fell 31-26 to the Carolina Panthers, fans expressed faith for the regular season.

Today's game was a special one for the youngest members of Bills Mafia. Kids flooded into Highmark stadium alongside their parents for Kids Day, a day full of football fun for the whole family.

"It was pretty noisy, they did the wave a lot. It was pretty awesome in there, we were just there to have fun,” said Owen Nicholas, young Bills fan.

Mini members of Bills Mafia came to the stadium sporting their best Bills gear, taking the opportunity to soak up the last of the pre-season energy on a day dedicated just for them. And for parents, it's a win-win; getting the chance to cheer on their favorite team alongside the next generation of fans.

“I used to be a season ticket holder before and it's a lot [more] kid friendly, but they had a great time, the players were greeting the kids after the game, it was fun," said Lauren Routh, a parent at the game.

The energy at any Bills game is unmatched, but parents say there's something special about Kids Day.

"Kids Day is something we do every year, it's a great time because there's a lot of other kids in the stadium and it's a great atmosphere for the kids,” said Paul Dombrowski, parent.

With the exhibition games over, some fans took the opportunity to cast some predictions for the upcoming season.

"I think we will make it to the playoffs but I don't think we'll make it far,” said one young fan.

And call it superstition, but others are instead choosing to take it one game at a time.

“No predictions out of me but just one game at a time,” said another fan.
