BUFFALO, N.Y. — Buffalo is buzzing over Josh Allen's giant poster on a building in downtown Buffalo.
The City of Buffalo is reacting to the large Josh Allen poster that was installed over the weekend on the Statler building.
“I love it, I love it, I love it. My man Josh… It’s huge,” said passerby Jeff.
It is part of a Gatorade advertising campaign that covers nearly 12 floors of the building and overlooks Niagara Square, making Allen the face of Downtown Buffalo.
“I think he's always been unofficially, but now it's official,” said Claire Tilley.
The large poster adds a different feel to Niagara Square with Bills season ticket holder Dwayne Foster relating it to something seen in a bigger city.
“It's great to see. It's kind of New York City-ish, and I think it's awesome,” he said.
2 On Your Side asked residents if the poster was too big and intrusive, but they disagreed.
“No, that'll work. I think it will get a lot of people's attention,” said Bob.
“Just improving the beauty of the city. I mean, how could anyone have a problem with that?” said Tilley.
Some residents believe Buffalo needs more initiatives like the poster.
“We need more of it,” said season ticket holder Monica Stewart.
The poster states, 'IS IT IN YOU?' and follows the release of a Gatorade ad featuring Allen’s journey to the NFL. However, some residents question the tagline associated with the poster.
“It should say something else. I want to know what it means,” said Zachary Johnson.
What some residents can agree on? Allen deserves the recognition.
“He's coming into his own, so we have a superstar. He has a cape on every game. He definitely does the work to account for such a beautiful picture,” said Foster.
“For seven years, I sit right in front of Josh Allen suites. We have a great time, we love and enjoy seeing him do his thing on that field, and we not ever going to stop coming,” said Stewart.
As much as some fans like the poster, what many would like more is a Super Bowl victory.
“Take us to the Super Bowl, that's next,” said Johnson. “Beat [Kansas City] and get them out of the playoffs. No more Super Bowls for them.”
One Niagara Square fan dressed in blue and red Bills gear had some motivational words for Allen.
“You got to keep it going, man. We believe in you, man. You got to believe in yourself, Josh,” said Shannon Honeycutt.
