NIAGARA FALLS, N.Y. — We recently shared some of the beautiful new faces on the old Jenss Department Store building as part of a project done by the Niagara Falls National Heritage Center.
The portraits featured on the windows are just 184 of the over 400 portraits Polly King created of local Niagara Falls people, many of whom were women who shaped the history of Niagara Falls.
King was greatly known for the great diversity depicted in her art and made many works centered around Niagara Falls, where she spent most of her adult life. She painted a total of over 450 portraits throughout her life.
In a newly revealed exhibit, the Niagara Falls National Heritage Center will showcase 86 of King's works, 40 of which are on the Jenss Building now in their 'Women of Niagara' installation.
On December, 2 those interested in checking out the pieces in person can visit the Heritage Center from 2:00 p.m. - 5:00 p.m.
Guests will also be able to take a shuttle during the event to see the Jenss building installation in person.
