BUFFALO, NY - A very special flight touched down in Buffalo late Saturday night. A plane bearing 53 local veterans returned to Western New York after taking a trip to visit our nation's capitol.
They were escorted to Washington, D.C. by Honor Flight of Buffalo, which makes sure that veterans have the chance to see the World War II memorial honoring the special sacrifice made by our men and women in uniform during that epochal conflict.
Honor Flight Buffalo has escorted 418 World War II veterans to the memorial since it began six years ago.
