CHEEKTOWAGA, N.Y. — The holiday season of giving continues to spread across Western New York. Walmart and The Salvation Army are teaming up to help families in Cheektowaga this holiday season.
Walmart has an Angel Tree set up in the store at 2500 Walden Ave where customers can buy gifts for kids and place them under the tree to be donated. Shoppers can also donate a holiday meal to The Salvation Army, or drop money in the red kettle outside.
"We want to support our community," Walmart store manager Erin Coole said. "It's really nice as a big business, to be able to support so many different areas. It's really heartwarming when you can do it in your own community, so we really enjoy being able to take of our community."
Walmart said that so far thanks to the Angel Tree, they have donated four bins of toys to The Salvation Army.
