BUFFALO, N.Y. — Traditionally, children race around parks to grab Easter eggs. Snow changed all that for one local event.
Some 5,000 eggs were up for grabs at the Easter Egg Hunt Eggtravaganza at McCarthy Park on Sunday, and turnout, given the weather, was better than what organizers said they expected.
"I'm actually shocked," Kaisha Baxtron, founder of Project Restore 716, told 2 On Your Side. "I didn't expect anyone to still come out, and we actually had a pretty good turnout.
"I basically set it up so that instead of the egg hunt, I set it up like a drive-through, pull-through thing. Just pull up let the kids out they can have their choice of eggs, fill up their bag, and then we have a few little stations and stops as they're coming out."
Organizers said the change provided a safe way for families to have fun.
