ALLEGANY, N.Y. — A funeral service will take place Friday morning for Saint Bonaventure University's Father Dan Riley.

Fr. Riley passed away last Wednesday.

He attended the Cattaraugus County college from 1960 to 1964 and later returned to work at the school. Riley founded the Olean student-run soup kitchen, The Warming House. He also established Saint Bonaventure's retreat at Mount Irenaus in West Clarksville and created what became the University Ministries office.

The Saint Bonaventure University public affairs office referred to Father Dan as "The charismatic face of St. Bonaventure."

A viewing for Father Dan is scheduled for Friday from 9:30 a.m. to 10:30 a.m. at the University Chapel. Only people who have reserved tickets will be able to attend his funeral Mass in the University Chapel. Crowd overflow will be seated at the Quick Center.

A post-Mass reception will be held at Hickey Dining Hall on campus.

A livestream of the service will be provided online here.
