BUFFALO, N.Y. — Lake Effect Ice Cream is no stranger to trying out both new and bold flavors.
For example, almost five years ago to the day, the owners rolled out a flavor called "Medium, Extra Creamy," which used Frank's RedHot as the main ingredient.
That flavor, apparently, has been retired. In its place is a revamped "RedHot" creation that's been introduced during the past week.
"We have remade, refigured, rearmed and remixed our infamous, and I mean infamous, Frank’s RedHot ice cream. With the retooling we are naming this version simply RedHot," Lake Effect Ice Cream said on social media.
Shop owners say you can sample "RedHot" at its Lockport and North Buffalo shops. They also said that you can dip celery in the ice cream, if that's something you wish to do.
"RedHot" is a limited-edition flavor at both locations.
