BUFFALO, N.Y. — Yelp has put out its annual Top 100 Places to Eat list for 2024 and two Western New York restaurants are on it.
Manito Taco Shop in Lockport and Anchi a La Carte in Amherst are featured on this year's list
Yelp sought nominations from restaurant goers on their favorite restaurants and then they "narrow the list down with the expertise of our community managers and Trend Expert to curate a list as quirky, interesting and unique as the Yelp Community itself."
Manito, which started out as a taco truck to feed farmers, is now a shop located at 3958 Lockport Olcott Road. They serve a variety of different tacos, salads, sides and desserts.
The restaurant posted on their Facebook page when the list came out, "We’re still in shock, we can't believe it! Thank you so much to this beautiful community that welcomed us with open arms and always supported us."
Anchi a La Carte is a Vietnamese restaurant located at 4224 Maple Road in Amherst. According to Yelp, Anici a La Carte makes traditional Vietnamese dishes, like Vietnamese Pork Noodle Soup, and several different kinds of Pho, all made with fresh ingredients.
One Yelper wrote, "It’s really hard to find authentic and good pho in the Buffalo area. This place really surprised me in the best way possible."
Anchi a La Carte posted this on their Facebook page about being on the list, "I am so proud that Anchi was nominated in Top 100 Places to Eat in the US. Enormous thank to our wonderful customers for supporting our small business. We been through a lots of challenges and difficulties since we opened. Our hard work totally paid off."
