AMHERST, N.Y. — An Amherst restaurant is showing their support for the Buffalo Bills by pulling a Pittsburgh-themed food item off their menu.
Papi Grande's restaurant posted on their social media pages that they will be removing their Pittsburgh taco from their menu in support of the Buffalo Bills as they get set to take on the Pittsburgh Steelers in the AFC Wild Card game on Sunday.
Instead, the restaurant is offering a new 'Mafia Taco'; which is breaded chicken or shrimp tossed in hot sauce topped with blue cheese & coleslaw on a soft tortilla shell.
Papi Grande's isn't the only restaurant pulling menu items to show support for their team.
Pittsburgh restaurant, Bubba's Burghers in Southpointe, is banning the sale of Buffalo wing sauce until after Sunday's game. That includes both wing sauce and chicken wing dip. Their customers, until then, will have to settle for one of 20-some other sauces sold there.
Bubba's took to social media with a video, showing the restaurant and its signs, "in case you thought we were kidding!"
That's not the only Pittsburgh-area business taking action. According to the Pittsburgh Tribune-Review newspaper, Buffalo dipping sauce will not be sold at select McDonald’s locations in the region until after the game.
Then there was a call to action from 93.7 FM, The Fan, a sports-talk radio station in Pittsburgh. A few of their hosts urged listeners to avoid ordering chicken wings until after the game, and instead order boneless chicken.
The Bills take on the Steelers at Highmark Stadium on Sunday.
