ORCHARD PARK, N.Y. — James Webb devoured the field at last year's U.S. Buffalo Wing Eating Championship, eating 276 in 12 minutes to win the crown.
He scarfed down 40 fewer wings on Sunday at Highmark Stadium, but it didn't matter. He won, anyway.
Webb — from Sydney, Australia — won with 236 wings in 12 minutes. Two-time champion Miki Sudo finished second with 205 wings, and Nick Wehry finished third. Sudo won the 2021 and 2022 competitions.
Webb was short on words following the announcement that he had won again.
"I have a happy mom and happy wife," Webb said. "I won. I thank you, Buffalo. I appreciate you guys a lot."
