Buffalo coffee shop reopens under new ownership

A popular Buffalo coffee house will be reopening on Monday, April 22 under new ownership.

BUFFALO, N.Y. — A popular Buffalo coffee house that had closed in February due what they described as a 'transition to new ownership' is now happy to share that they will be officially reopening on Monday, April 22.

In a social media post made on April 16, Remedy House shared that they will be open starting on Monday, and everyday after that from 7 a.m. to 3 p.m.

On their website it is listed as 'Under New Management' and reads "Remedy House is an all-day coffee bar in Buffalo’s Five Points neighborhood offering an extensive menu of coffee, food, and beverages for every mood, hour, budget, condition, affliction, affection, and need. "

Under the previous ownership in 2023, employees at Remedy House had gone on strike after 5 employees were fired for trying to unionize.

More recently in February of 2024, prior to the new recent change, employees had discovered that they had not been getting paid with their checks bouncing. A former employee had said that the place had been mismanaged to the point where the owners were no longer able to make payroll.

All of that though is a thing of the past with the new ownership ready to start fresh in the coming weeks.
