BUFFALO, N.Y. — Chicken teriyaki rice balls, miso ramen, and sweet chili crisp wings will soon be widely available at 7-Eleven locations across the U.S., the Today Show reports.

The company is working with 7-Eleven Japan to include new menu items usually seen at Japanese convenience stores- or the konbini- some of which are already available at select U.S. locations.

Compared to the hot dogs and Slurpee drinks of U.S. 7-Eleven locations, Japan-style menu items feature an array of unique foods including egg sandwiches (Tamago Sando), fruit sandwiches (Furutsu Sando), and rice balls (Onigiri).

A 7-Eleven spokesperson told the Today Show that their team "draws inspiration from around the world to introduce new items like Mangonada donuts with Tajin, barbecue pork sliders, chicken curry bowls, and everything breakfast sandwiches that can be found at select 7-Eleven, Speedway, and Stripes stores across the country.”

7-Eleven currently operates over 21,000 locations in Japan, and over 13,000 storefronts in Canada and the U.S. In 2005, Japanese owners SEJ Asset Management & Investment Company purchased 7-Eleven, continuing to refresh the convenience store's menus across the U.S.
