BUFFALO, N.Y. — The high cost of eggs appears to have more Western New Yorkers asking to raise backyard chickens.

The Village of Medina is now considering the issue.

A measure before the planning board will allow up to six backyard chickens per household in Medina. A similar issue is moving forward in Lyndonville.

Both villages have yet to formally adopt the new rules.
