ERIE COUNTY, N.Y. — Fire department personnel made an unusual rescue on Wednesday: a deer that had fallen inside of a well.
Firefighters had been dispatched to a location in the Town of Elma, where a homeowner had noticed a deer that fell into an overflowing well on the property.
Members of both Elma and Jamison Road fire companies were able to get a rope around the deer, then lift it out of the well.
Once the deer was hoisted out, it had ran off happily back to safety in the woods.
