AKRON, N.Y. — There's a new home for older dogs and cats in Akron.
White Whiskers Senior Dog Sanctuary held an open house at their new location on Lewis Road.
The project has been nearly two years in the making, after the non-profit raised more than $400,000. White Whiskers has helped find homes for hundreds of older dogs in Western New York since 2020.
The open house is a two-day event, running from noon to 4 p.m. on both Saturday and Sunday. There was food, live music, plus the opportunity to meet with a coordinator about volunteer opportunities.
There was also a pet food drive.
