TV's Loretta Swit to march in parade honoring Polish general

Actress Loretta Swit is an honorary grand marshal of western New York's annual Pulaski Day Parade honoring Polish-born Revolutionary War hero Casimir Pulaski.

CHEEKTOWAGA, N.Y. (AP) - Actress Loretta Swit is an honorary grand marshal of western New York's annual Pulaski Day Parade honoring Polish-born Revolutionary War hero Casimir Pulaski.

The Pulaski Day Parade starts at 1:30 p.m. on Sunday. The parade route goes through the Thruway Plaza west on Walden Avenue and north on Harlem Road to the Cheektowaga Town Park.

Swit's grandparents were born in Poland. She and others of Polish descent will march along the route in the Buffalo suburb of Cheektowaga on Sunday.

Swit is best known for her role as Maj. Margaret "Hot Lips" Houlihan on the series "M.A.S.H."
