'They are really special': 8-year-old shares his passion for LEGOs through a business

Soon to be 9 years old, Carter Cadmus is celebrating one year of owning his own business.

WILLIAMSVILLE, N.Y. — Most children are playing video games or watching TV, but one boy from Williamsville is spending his time to grow a business.

Owner of Lego Corner, Carter Cadmus, said he chose to work with the plastic building block toy because "they are creative and colorful."

Soon to be 9, Cadmus has already owned and operated his business for a year.

"I borrowed my dad's money so I could purchase the LEGOs," Cadmus said. "I collected the money overtime and paid him back and bought more of the LEGOs."

His shop can be found inside Sweet Jenny's at 1811 Comics, located on East Spring Street in Williamsville.

"It all started because I wanted my portion of the business (1811 Comics). I know that everyone loves LEGOs, kids and adults. They are a fun thing to play with."

There are more than just LEGOs at 1811 Comics. Customers can find new and vintage comics, collectibles and other comic related toys. But for Cadmus, it's all about the LEGOs.

Cadmus manages putting all the pieces of LEGOs together, which even though can take some time, said it's worth it.

"I just love seeing the smile on their face when they see a LEGO."

Products on sale at Lego Corner range in price, with smaller LEGO pieces going for $5 and larger ones for $10.

"I'm hoping that my business grows even bigger and maybe someday can take this whole shelf up. I just want to keep building my business."
