Zoomagination opens at the Buffalo Zoo

This year's lantern show celebrates both Asian and African culture.

BUFFALO, N.Y. — Summer nights at the Buffalo Zoo just got a lot more magical.

Zoomagination, the colorful light-up lantern show, is back for a third season at the zoo.

This year's event features 39 different displays and celebrates both Asian and African Culture.

The Buffalo Zoo works with a company out of China to develop and produce the show.

"It's just a great way for people to spend an evening with their family," Buffalo Zoo President and CEO Lisa Smith told 2 On Your Side. "They can come, see these beautiful lanterns, get a meal, watch a cultural show, we have three shows a night."

Smith added that on warm summer nights, visitors will likely spot some of the animals out as well.

Zoomagination runs Thursday, Friday, Saturday, and Sunday evenings through September 22nd.
