New women-owned nail parlor set for 716 Day grand opening in Hamburg

Cure Nail Parlor will celebrate local female entrepreneurs with vendor pop-ups during grand opening week.

BUFFALO, N.Y. — Shannon Vogel's interest in the beauty industry started with her grandparents, the former owners of Richards Beauty Shop, a salon in downtown Buffalo.

"They had a full-service salon, and I always knew that one day I wanted to be in the business of making people feel special and beautiful, so that's really how Cure came about," she told 2 On Your Side. "Nail care is really important to self-care, so I wanted to create a luxurious nail experience for people in the community."

Now, Cure Nail Parlor on Camp Road in Hamburg is all set for its grand opening, which just happens to fall on 716 Day, Tuesday, July 16th.

"I love Buffalo and I thought it just kind of coincided with the timing," she said. "That would be a wonderful day to kick this new adventure off."

Cure will offer Buffalo-themed nail art, and showcase local women vendors all week to celebrate.

"We're working with Jess in the Kitchen, she's from Hamburg, she's coming in and bringing in a whole spread," Vogel said. "We have Loti Henna Studio coming in to do free henna on anyone that's here tomorrow, and we're also working with Charmed 716 which is a bracelet company, and Peg's Hardware doing a few pop ups throughout the week."

In addition to a non-toxic and hypoallergenic environment, Cure also offers a complimentary beverage with every service and a room for private nail parties.

"I have a daughter that's nine, so I wanted to make sure that I cater to children," Vogel said. "We have a Little Luxury pedicure where you can come in an get a Shirley Temple and get your nails done."

Other services include a men's pedicure called "Bro Toes," and "Mamacures" geared towards busy moms.

"We also just really want to make sure the customer experience is top notch. I worked in marketing for 15 years, and I know how that's important," Vogel said. "I want every person who comes through this door to feel special and welcomed, and I want them to leave feeling like they just had the best experience of their life."
