Out 2 Eat: Johnson's Landing

If you're on patio patrol this summer, then Johnson's Landing in Hamburg has one you won't want to miss.

BUFFALO, N.Y. — If you're on patio patrol this summer, Johnson's Landing in Hamburg has one you won't want to miss.

"We really just try to capitalize on feeling like it's a vacation when you're here," owner Shawna Johnson told 2 On Your Side.

The huge new complex along Lake Erie opened up at the end of the last summer. Shawna, her husband Bob, and their three children — Bobby, Nate, and Lexi — operate it together as a family.

"The idea was to have a different experience on each level," Shawna said.

The first level has a brewery, plenty of outdoor space, and kitchen that serves up casual fare.

"Handhelds, woodfire pizzas," Shawna said. "You can come there after work, you can you know you can have a birthday party there. it's just very relaxed."

The second floor is for more elevated sit-down meals. There's also a private event space.

"This menu's a little bit different. It has our steaks, our seafood, pastas, a little bit more elevated appetizers," Shawna said.

The rooftop patio speaks for itself.

"It's like no other space in the building, and arguably one of the nicest, largest patios in Western New York that overlooks the lake," Bob said. "I don't think people realize it until they get up on there and see what it is. It's a huge space."

Running several different business concepts out of one place takes a lot of dedicated hard work, something the Johnsons take pride in as family business owners.

"We've been lucky to have a lot of really good people that work with us," Bob said. "We have a really good core group of people that we care about, that care about us has made it all worth it."

Johnson's Landing is open every day but Tuesday for lunch and dinner, with brunch on the weekends.
